Another thing that you should be able to begin recognizing is the movements of your bird. The bird will develop patterns of the places in the cage that it likes to perch the greatest and the types of activities that it enjoys doing.

If you see that your bird isn’t moving as much as it usually does, or is sitting on the floor of the cage instead of on its perch, it might be sick, and you should pay some attention to it. In the same way if your bird starts acting erratically and flying around the cage in an unusual way or is trying to frantically get out of the cage, it could also be sick. No matter what type of animal cruelty that one sees, the thing to remember is to help the animals by getting them out of the abusive situation. Animal cruelty cases, both passive and active, are horrendous crimes that people should try to do everything in their power to stop and control. One thing that individuals can do to help animals is to be active in stopping the violence and cruelty. Education and involvement is the key.

Pet adoption is the process of taking responsibility for a pet or animal.The animal or the pet are sent to animal shelter homes because their owners are either not able or not willing to give it appropriate care.

Pet adoption from rescue groups most of the times has stricter or more rigid process. Animal shelters also do require adoption fees.  But adoption fees are much less than the animal’s purchase price in the pet store.  Another benefit from adopting from shelters is that the pet is more likely to be already vaccinated, dewormed and spayed or neutered. 

Even so, the new owner, most of the times, still encounter some challenges with the pet.  These cases happen mostly with animals victim of abuse and neglect. The new owners should always provide extra patience in understanding and training the animals. These will help the pets to overcome the past.

According to Kelly Connolly of the Humane Society of the United States, there is an estimated 6 to 8 million dogs and cats enter shelters each year.  With these big numbers, there are just ad estimated 3,500 standing animal shelters in the United State, not including an unknown number of smaller, local and home-based rescue organizations.  These figures only show that there are not enough places that could accommodate our pets.

For people who are interested in having pets, pet adoption is a great way of saving money.  At the same time provide a life-long home and love for animals in shelters and rescue groups.

Preparing For Your Kitty Cat

The good news about cats is that they are very independent and would not really take as much care a dog. However, that does not mean that you will prepare certain things before you bring your little kitty cat home. So you better get things organized before you go to the pet shop and get you cat.

 First, you will need to find your kitty cat a bed. A wicker basket bed would do very nicely for your cat. Get one of those really nice wicket basket beds and put some cotton or wool blankets on it. Kitty cats love something that is soft and warm so the cotton or wool blanket would do nicely. Besides, cotton or wool blankets are easily to clean or replace so you would really have much of a problem there.

Aside from the bed, you should get your kitty cat a food dish and a water dish. It would be good idea to get a food dish and water dish that are made of steel instead of plastic because your cat might play with the dish. Plastic dish could easy get scratched or damaged so better get a steel dish instead.

In order to groom your kitty cat, first it is advisable that you collect, hair brush, eye ointment, nail clipper and mild shampoo. Actually, most cats hate the water and they would usually not welcome it if you give them a bath so it would be a good idea to big it a bath occasionally only. Preferably, It would expect you to wipe it’s face using a clean wet cloth regularly. Use some mineral oil to clean the eyelids of you kitty cat but make sure that you do not put anything directly in its eyes because that would cause some irritations. Besides this, You should routinely trim the nails of your pet if you do not intend to decorate your house furniture with Cat scratch marks.
